Why is my payment showing as pending?
When you place an order with us, the payment may initially show as Pending while our warehouse system checks and allocates the stock to your order behind the scenes.
In most cases, your order will be prepared within a few hours of your order confirmation email being sent. Once this happens, the payment status will usually change from Pending to Charged, so your body support essentials can start making their way to you.
Haven’t received your order confirmation email?
First, it’s worth checking:
- The email address used when placing your order
- Your junk or spam folders
- The Orders section within your online account to see whether the order was successfully placed
If you still can’t find an order confirmation email and it’s been more than an hour since placing the order, it’s likely the order hasn’t gone through successfully.
If this happens, don’t worry. Pending transactions will usually clear automatically within 24 to 48 hours, depending on your bank or payment provider.
A few important things to know
- Pending transactions on your credit or debit card are still being held by your bank, not by Holland & Barrett
- Most banks automatically release unprocessed payments within 24 to 48 hours
- If you paid using PayPal, the funds can sometimes be held for up to 21 days before being released back into your account
If you have any questions about a pending payment on your card or PayPal account, we’d recommend contacting your payment provider directly, as they’ll be best placed to support you with how the funds are being held.
We know it can feel worrying when a payment doesn’t look quite right, especially when you’re trying to keep your wellness routine on track, but these pending transactions are usually resolved automatically once the payment provider completes their checks.
