Royal Mail “Something for You” card or tracking update
If you’ve had a Royal Mail update or a “Something for You” card, your parcel is likely waiting nearby or ready to be redelivered.
We know it’s not ideal when your delivery doesn’t quite land when your body’s routine expects it, so here’s the quickest way to get it back on track.
First step: check your tracking
Start by opening your Royal Mail tracking link. You may need to sign in to see the full details.
From there, you’ll be able to see if:
- Your parcel is waiting at a collection point, like a local Post Office® or Delivery Office
- You can arrange a redelivery or send it somewhere more convenient
If your parcel is at a collection point
You’ll find the location and collection details either:
- On your tracking page
- Or on the “Something for You” card left by your postie
Royal Mail usually holds parcels for up to 18 days before sending them back.
What to bring with you:
- Your “Something for You” card or tracking details
- A valid photo ID (matching the name on the parcel)
If someone’s collecting it for you, they may need extra ID, so it’s worth checking Royal Mail’s guidance before heading out.
Want it redelivered instead?
If getting out to collect it doesn’t fit around your day, you can usually rearrange delivery online.
Head to Royal Mail’s “Change my delivery options” page, where you can:
- Book a free redelivery to your home
- Send it to a local Post Office®
- In some cases, redirect it to another address
Just a heads up, some parcels (like those needing a signature or age check) can’t be redirected.
Don’t leave it too long
Your parcel will only be held for a limited time, so it’s best to act sooner rather than later.
Arrange collection or redelivery within 18 days
Some redelivery options need up to 48 hours’ notice
